Переглядів 190День тому
Today we introduce a new project. We recently bought three new Bolens Ride-a-matic's, one 1961 and two 1962. Over the years they have all been modified slightly in different ways and by working on them together we think it will be easier to return them back to original. I haven't been to your channel in over a year. Glad to see you're still doing this. Your reviews are very detailed and valuable. So I'm still stumped on my GMC Husky H 14 hydro and can't get the axle to lock by procedure. Need it for snow. Live up above the snowline. Just got thit HT 20 with a frontend loader. Yaaaay and need to lock it also. Not at my house yet. Hope I discover that external lock pin on the HT 20. Will be checking to see if you answered. Need it soon. I'm 80 and running out of time. Haha Thanks Dandahermit. Liked and subbed way back when you just started. Keep it up.😂😂

      Thank you for the kind words. The hydro tractors such as the H14 and HT20 do not have locking pins. The H14 does have the diff lock but not on the HT20. If it is the diff lock you are struggling with on the H14 it is possible it was over tightened by a previous owner, they should be finger tight. You may need to take the wheel off and dismantle it. The HT20 has a control valve under the left hand side fender which you wind out to be able to easily push the tractor, not easy to see or get too. If you can't find it drop me an email and I will reply with a picture. They are great tractors and very cool to have a loader, I wish we had one on our HT's. We have used our HT20 in snow with chains plus wheel weights and it had good traction. The addition weight over a tube frame tractor helps with traction too. If you have wheel weights on your H14 these also fit the HT20. It is a shame you are not closer otherwise we would have popped over to help. I hope my reply has helped a little. Take care

    I noticed you are missing all four wear plates, at about the 13:30 mark you can see the lines in the paint where they used to be, the knife slapping around loose isn't a good idea and will affect cutting performance ... good video though.

    You guys pulled out all the stops to get a paint match! Taking the whole machine down to the shop in the Land Rover was probably a surprise to the paint shop. They are probably more used to matching from a chip of old paint. Well done, though, now you'll have the paint code for future. I'm not quite sure what Versa-Matic means. Does it mean that the attachments are many and versatile? Anyway, good progress and I look forward to seeing this back together. Take care and a big hello to the behind-the-scenes crew!

    • @GardenTractorBoy
      @GardenTractorBoy 3 дні тому

      Thanks. I think you are right, the paint shop was a little surpised. The Versamatic system is Bolens name for there version of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) system which works very well on a garden tractor. It is good to be able to adjust the gearing slightly whilst the tractor is on load. Take care and I hope you have a great week

    Hello Joseph, A great project introduction... I am looking forward to seeing this one progress... It makes total sense to get the tractors to be up and running first and then do a more comprehensive restoration when times allows.
